Let me start by saying that what’s going on in the world has brought me so many tears, self-awareness, and just a humbling sensation. Going through law school and trying to maintain any notion of sanity has been hard and I found myself lost. So I turned to so many different books and I read so much as a way to escape the reality we are in now. I found myself wanting to come back to blogging so much but I could never manage the time. After all this time I realized, my biggest downfall is time management. I found so much time to read maybe about 75 books since my last post; however, I could not write anything down AND I WANTED TO. I’ve lost the spark to my personality that I once had, I lost friends. I found myself in such an abusive friendship and those who I thought would stick by me…didn’t. It has been a year of growth and sadness but I have learned from and I will strive to make sure it does not happen a second time.
Now down to good stuff and the actual subject to this blog *nervous chuckle*. Below I’m going to list my top 5 books (in no particular order) that I’ve read throughout the year. Get ready for an in depth reviews of each one coming up throughout the week!
- Chain of Gold by Cassandra Clare
- The Cruel Prince (currently working on book 3) by Holly Black
- The Starless Sea by Erin Morgenstern
- The Beautiful by Renee Ahdieh
- The Wicked King by Holly Black
“Maybe this is why we read, and why in moments of darkness we return to books: to find words for what we know.” ~Alberto Manguel
